What is Great Decisions? Great Decisions is a foreign policy discussion program. The Foreign Policy Association has chosen eight timely topics and will publish a briefing book on those topics, which serves as a focal text for discussion groups across the country. Global Minnesota vets speakers for the many Great Decisions groups in the state, including MCC's.
What are the topics for 2024? Mideast Realignment, Climate Technology and Competition, Science Across Borders, U.S.-China Trade Rivalry, NATO’s Future, Understanding Indonesia, High Seas Treaty, Pandemic Preparedness
When is Great Decisions? MCC's 2024 Great Decisions programs will be held January 22, February 26, March 18, April 15, May 20, September 16, October 21 & November 18 from 7-8:30 pm. You don't need to attend every program. NOTE: Due to holidays, the January and February meetings will be on the fourth Monday of the month. All other months we will meet on the third Monday of the month.
Where does it meet? Great Decisions programs will be held in person at DeLaSalle High School, 1 DeLaSalle Drive, Minneapolis.
How much does it cost? The cost is $40 per member for the year. If you would like to order one of the briefing books published by the Foreign Policy Association, the cost is $26.60 per book. The $40 fee pays for speaker honorariums and room fees; $26.60 covers the briefing book actual cost. Books are optional.
How do I pay? You can pay online or send a
check payable to Mill City Commons. Mailing address for checks is: Mill City Commons, 1201 W River Pkwy, Ste 217C, Minneapolis, MN 55454.
What is the deadline to sign up? Tuesday, December 12, 2022 at 6 pm.
How do I sign up?
Please follow these steps to register:
1. Click on "Register Now" button.
2. Select your Registration Option (single or couple and payment type, including book purchase options)
3. Type your spouse/partner's name when prompted OR type N/A if registering as a single.
4. Click Complete Registration
5. On the Payments Page, select your payment method from the dropdown menu (credit card or check).
5a. If paying by credit card, enter your card information and click Submit Payment.
5b. If paying by check, simply click Done. Or you can choose to print an invoice for your records. Don't forget to mail your check to MCC!
6. You can also email staff and we will help register you. Just let us know who wants to participate and whether you'd like a briefing book.
**Note: There is no event on December 12th. We are simply using the registration process to capture sign-ups and online payments. You will still need to register for each individual Great Decisions program in 2024 once they are scheduled.
