About this event
Discover the food, diverse programming and art at the newly renovated Minneapolis American Indian Center. Founded in 1975, the Minneapolis American Indian Center (MAIC) has a rich history as one of the first urban American Indian Centers in the country. It now has built on its roots after a historic renovation to serve over 35,000 tribally diverse urban population. The center provides critical services based on cultural values through youth, elder and intergenerational programs. These services are provided at no cost to participants.
The Gatherings Café, located within MAIC, provides accessible, healthy, Indigenous food and knowledge. It serves fresh, locally grown foods that are prepared using innovation mixed with ancestral knowledge.
Breakfast (optional but highly recommended) at 9:30 am.
Discussion and tour with MAIC’s program director tour: 10:30-11:30 am.
