About this event
University of Minnesota Political Science Professor Kathryn Pearson will discuss the early days of the 119th Congress and what is ahead with a focus on the congressional agenda, partisan politics, and cooperation (and conflict) between President Trump and the U.S. Congress. While unified party control of the White House and Congress gives Republicans the opportunity to pass their agenda, very narrow margins and factional politics may pose challenges. Pearson will conclude with an early analysis of the 2026 midterm elections.
