About this event
Tour the beautiful and historic Basilica of Saint Mary. Constructed between 1907-1915 and named America's first Basilica in 1926, it is a stunning example of beaux-arts style designed by French architect Emmanuel Masqueray. We will learn about the building's architecture, history, and sacred art in this one-hour visit.
You are invited to park along 17th Street even though the signs say private parking. As a guest of The Basilica you are most welcome to park there. There is a ground level door by the circle drive should you need elevator access or you can use the main steps along Hennepin Avenue to come into the main church. Your docent will meet you at the baptismal font.
Interested in carpooling? Click on the registrant list and find a member in your building or near you that you can connect with and ask to share a ride. Or, feel free to contact the MCC office for a suggestion.
