Experience America’s greatest river—and your urban national park—from a whole new perspective on a four-mile guided paddle down the Mississippi River. Your journey begins at the Carl W. Kroening Nature Center in North Mississippi Regional Park and ends at Graco Park. Along the way, you’ll pass the future site of the Upper Harbor Terminal Redevelopment Project and catch views of great blue herons nesting on their island rookery. Important Logistics: The paddle starts at North Mississippi Regional Park and ends at Graco Park. We recommend coming with a friend and two vehicles—park one at Graco Park and carpool to the starting point. This program is designed for experienced or intermediate-to-advanced kayakers who are comfortable paddling in moving water and enjoy the social experience of a ranger-guided outing. Due to river conditions, this program is not recommended for beginners. Registration: $11.50 per person. Each registration includes: One seat in a kayak (choose from 3 single or 2 double kayaks)* Paddle Personal flotation device (PFD) rental from Paddle Share *Please indicate your kayak preference during registration.
