About this event
What direction is U.S. foreign policy taking under a second Trump administration? This session examines how a renewed “America First” approach is affecting alliances such as NATO, relations with China and Russia, U.S. policy toward Ukraine and the Middle East, and America’s role in international institutions. We’ll also consider trade policy, economic competition, immigration, and the use of executive power in shaping foreign affairs. Join us for an informed and thoughtful discussion about the impact President Trump's 2.0 foreign policy is having on America’s role in a rapidly changing world.
Our speaker for this program is Anne Linnee. Following a more than 20-year career as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, Anne retired from the State Department in 2023. During her career she primarily worked on issues in, and related to, Africa and Asia. Her overseas assignments included the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Mauritania and South Africa, as well as Washington, DC. Her final assignment was as the U.S. Consul General in Durban, South Africa.
Registration for each session is required for Great Decisions members. Please register on the MCC website. Sorry, not open to guests.
