About this event
If you are a reader/listener of thoughtful investigative and critical journalism from magazine and newspaper articles and podcasts, please join MCC member Melinda Ward once a month for Mix of Minds, a ninety-minute discussion of a recent article proposed by a member of the group. This will be like a book group but focus on shorter pieces that generate interesting questions and thoughtful conversation from a wide variety of sources such as The New Yorker, The Atlantic or The Economist, etc.
We'll send the article or podcast link out 2 weeks before meeting so that participants can submit questions beforehand.
Our articles for July are as follows:
"If Liberals Won't Enforce Borders, Fascists Will" by David Frum, April 2019. Click https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2019/04/david-frum-how-much-immigration-is-too-much/583252/?gift=Lfhx4gk8zWoOX0A1VCo41Nvr-yN11lrxoY8uNHtOubo to access this article.
"Five Basic Truths About America's Most Polarizing Policy Debate" by Conor Friedersdorf, February 11, 2026. Click https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/02/five-basic-truths-about-americas-immigration-debate/685962/?gift=Lfhx4gk8zWoOX0A1VCo41DvkQHY0DzPO_BJZhsmKzFk to access this article.
This is a good way to learn about new topics and sources that you may have missed. We'll meet on one Friday morning a month from 9:30 - 11:00 am.
