Join us for a scenic ride along a portion of the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail, beginning just west of Faribault. This former rail line is flat, relatively well shaded, and ideal for a leisurely day of biking.
Our route will take us through Sakatah Lake State Park, Waterville, and Elysian, approximately 12 miles from our starting point, before continuing to Madison Lake for lunch at about the 20-mile mark. After lunch, we will return along the same route, with a possible ice cream stop in Elysian halfway back.
The full round trip is approximately 40 miles. Because this is an out-and-back route, riders are welcome to set their own pace and ride the distance that feels right for them.
Meet: 10:00 a.m. at the Camp Maiden Rock East parking lot, west of Faribault.
Getting There:
Drive south on Interstate 35 to Faribault and take Exit 56 for Highway 60 West. Continue approximately nine miles to Camp Maiden Rock East, which will be on the right shortly after crossing 4th Street NW/County Road 16. The drive should take about one hour.
