Hear from Dr. Stu Hanson as he will discuss and outline how we access the healthcare system through primary and specialty care offices, urgent care centers, emergency departments, hospitals, and the complex list of specialties we might encounter. He will also discuss the limitations of the healthcare system to cure some acute and most chronic conditions, and how patients might approach using the capabilities of the system we have to manage, and when desired, to limit their care. Finally, he will discuss the importance of value statements, healthcare agents, advance directives, and provider orders for life sustaining treatments (POLST) to limit unwanted cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) and other life-sustaining interventions.

There will be a short reception following the program from 5:30-6:00 pm.
